Brenda Maturin is a Lafayette native and attended Acadiana High School. She then attended Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelor of Science. Brenda then received her juris doctorate from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law in 1997.

She has practiced in several areas including insurance defense litigation, bankruptcy, personal injury, sexual harassment, medical malpractice and products liability. Brenda now concentrates mainly on bankruptcy work where she assists her clients with multiple issues including foreclosures, garnishments and sheriff sales.
