Rick Keating has been actively engaged in his bankruptcy practice for over 24 years. Rick was born in Bryant, Arkansas, and came to Acadiana in 1973, to attend the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Rick graduated from USL in 1977, and worked locally for several years. He attended the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and received his Juris Doctor in 1984. Rick first practiced law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and, in 1986, joined a firm in Opelousas, practicing in its bankruptcy department. In September of 1995, Rick formed "D. Patrick Keating, A.P.L.C." and practiced law as a sole practitioner, with an emphasis on bankruptcy matters. In October of 2007, Galloway Jefcoat, L.L.P. and Mr. Keating decided to merge, which made it possible for Rick to take over all of the bankruptcy matters for Galloway Jefcoat, L.L.P.

Rick is the Vice-President of the Southwest Louisiana Bankruptcy Bar Association and is a member of the Louisiana and St. Landry Parish Bar Associations. Rick is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana and in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Rick has developed a wealth of experience in all aspects of bankruptcy. He has represented individual and business debtors in Chapter 7, 13, and 11 cases, as well as creditors, trustees, and third parties in bankruptcy related matters.

Rick helps his clients realize that "there is life after debt." Rick has the experience and compassion in times of personal financial struggles and realizes that financial issues affect your entire life and well-being. Rick will take the time to understand and analyze your particular financial situation and recommend common sense solutions.
