New legislation passes that will complicate your automobile insurance claim.
New Bills Passed to Benefit Insurance Company
Louisiana legislature passed a bill that says a person cannot name an auto insurance company in a lawsuit if one is involved in an automobile accident. Legislature also passed another bill that says a jury cannot know that the person responsible for the accident has insurance coverage.
How does this affect me?
These bills would force you to have an expensive jury trial that can take years to make the insurance companies to pay even a minor claim.
What can I do?
1.) Call your state representative and tell them to vote against the insurance company gag rule and allowing insurance companies to delay for years the payment of legitimate claims in HB 57.
2.) Call your state senator and tell them to vote against the insurance company gag rule in HCR 19, suspending direct action in HCR 18, and the delaying of payment of legitimate claims in HCR 20.
