The Lafayette Bar Association has a pro bono civil legal service known as the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyer Program. The LVL helps low income individuals get the legal services they need to be fairly represented in court. The program chooses its clients by determining financial eligibility using the national poverty guidelines, and then pairing these clients with private attorneys that can help them go to court. Through placement and grants, the LVL program takes on approximately 200 cases a year.
Every year the LVL comes together and has an awards ceremony to honor the lawyers and law firms that give their time to this effort, and this year Galloway Jefcoat LLP can be counted among those honorees. Our law firm has been awarded the Champions of Justice Award for “Top Small Firm” by the LVL.
The associates of Galloway Jefcoat are proud to be a part of this program, and we thank the LVL for the honor. We recognize the importance of providing equal protection under the law to Americans of all income levels.
