Why Motorcycle Accidents Happen

In many cases, motorists fail to see motorcyclists in time to avoid a collision. Wearing bright clothing, using reflective tape and avoiding areas with poor lighting can all help increase visibility for motorcyclists. Even in areas with low driving speeds and traffic congestion, motorcyclists can be at risk for accidents.

Motorists can also play a critical role in advancing motorcycle safety in Louisiana. While driving, always keep a close eye on blind spots and use extra caution when turning in front of motorcycles.

It is important to continue advancing safety skills while riding motorcycles, and Louisiana has plenty of courses that might help riders accomplish this goal.
