What is to Blame for this Fatal Lafayette Car Accident?

A young man has recently died in a tragic car accident in the Lafayette area. He was driving on US 167 near River Road. Louisiana State Police say that they believe the man ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and veered across the traffic divider. The turn was so severe that it caused the vehicle to partially roll. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, so the roll threw him from the vehicle. The ejection seriously injured him, and the coroner later declared him dead. The only bright side in this tragedy is that the passenger survived the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred, and suffered only moderate injuries. What Causes A Fatal Car Accident? Seatbelts Might Have Saved These Two Louisiana Children

Two Louisiana children were killed in separate car accidents only hours apart from one another. Both died after being thrown from their car. Neither child was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. This raises the question as to whether buckling up could have prevented these tragedies. There were several other people in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All of these passengers were treated with varying levels of injuries, but they are all expected to recover safely. Drunk driving may have been a factor, but the toxicology testing is still underway. The second accident happened near the Acadia Parish when the driver overcorrected after trying to avoid an accident. The driver, who was also not wearing a…

He attempted to avoid swerving off of the road, but instead he over-corrected and crashed into a nearby canal. Since he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, he was ejected from the car and killed. The police are still investigating, but it does not appear the boy was in anyway impaired at the time of the crash. Seatbelts Save Lives This young man did his best to correct and prevent an accident, but crashes cannot always be avoided. You need to take every possible precaution to ensure that you will be protected in the event of an accident. The numbers suggest that not wearing a seatbelt is the…
